THE SLAM NOIR SOCK HOP
Adults only
The Slam Noir Sock Hop will set puppets loose on the field of dance. With objects, rod puppets, shadow, glove (and maybe a sock or two), puppeteers will create 10 short performances with dance as their theme. Lit only by torchlight, accompanied by love music, and moving from tabletops to windows around the spac, the works will explore dance as real (did I hear reel?), metaphoric, abstract, and imaginary.
Expect the extraordinary!
Between performances, the audience will dance as well - try different styles from swing to waltz to rock 'n' roll! Bring your friends, food, wine or beer, and a torch. Light up your night. Soft drinks will be available.
Featuring some of Australia's finest puppeteers including Rod Primrose, Annie Forbes, Tim Denton, Julia Davis, Richard Hart, Jacob Williams, Steve Coupe, Sue Wallace, Lachlan Plain and Lana Schwarcz.
WHERE: Uniting Church Hall
Fountain Street, Maldon
TICKETS: $10
